In this workshop we will be focusing on creating wall panels, backsplashes, door adornments, tiles, table-tops, or anything that strikes your fancy. Glass is a unique medium which is so inviting because of the intensity and purity of color. You will learn how to cut the tiles, what glues to use and when to use them, the different substrates to use and where to get them. You'll learn how to lay down the tiles to achieve different moods in your piece ..(is it humorous or formal, etc.)
Shelby has studied and taught Glass and Mosaic Art in many countries and brings knowledge, understanding and creativity to share with you. With over a hundred different colors of tiles and lots of other 'goodies' you'll have the full palatte to be able to express yourself completely. All levels of experience are welcome, and if you need help with your design, Shelby is there for you.. she also brings many books to help inspire you.
This year Shelby is happy to announce that she will be bringing a small kiln and some compatable glass for the participants to play with. She will teach the basics of fusing and each student will be able to make some fused glass bits for their mosaic panels. They may also make some to take home so they may use them in the future. This is a perfect addition to this wonderful workshop.
